I love watching films, and currently have about 350 DVD movies from all different genres, from Action to Western. Recently I've got an idea to rip DVDs that I bought into my computer and then upload to YouTube.
There are many dvd ripper tools that are capable of ripping and converting DVD movie to YouTube accepted video format. Many of them are general purpose toolkits that can convert almost any kind of video to almost any other popular formats. Some of them are good tools, but they make the process a bit complicated.
Finally I found a tool called iFunia DVD Ripper Pro for Mac on Google. This software is a free trial application for Mac OS X that accomplishes this task quickly and easily. Read on to find out how to rip protected DVD movies and upload to YouTube.

Step 1: Download & install iFunia DVD Ripper Pro for Mac
We’ll be using a very nice DVD Ripping tool for Mac OS called ‘iFunia DVD Ripper Pro’ for ripping our DVD movies, head over here and download the free trial version. Next step is to install the program.
Step 2: Run iFunia DVD Ripper Pro for Mac
Now get your DVD disc and insert it. Then run iFunia DVD Ripper Pro on your Mac and click the big button "Load..." to load your DVD disk, you may see the name of DVD Movie disk if you insert DVD disk before running this DVD ripper tool (see the image below to have an idea).

Step 3: Select the titles you'd like to convert
A movie DVD usually has several titles. The shorter titles on the DVD are usually the video backgrounds used in the DVD menu screens and DVD extras like movie trailers. Unless you are a graphic artist, you probably don't want to convert these titles.

Step 4: Trim the movie video to meet YouTube uploading requirements
Your video must meet YouTube uploading requirements: no larger than 2GB and no more than 10 minutes in length. It means that you can't upload a whole DVD movie to YouTube. You may rip a whole DVD movie to several chapters or just trim some favorite parts of movies and then upload to YouTube.

Step 5: Change the output settings to make the video the best quality
There are almost all common video formats available for you to choose to convert to. The best solution for YouTube uploading would be to compress it to H.264, MPEG-2 or MPEG-4 video with MP3 or AAC audio. You may learn more details about YouTube accepted video formats here.
Here I set the output video format to 'MPEG-4 H264 Video (*.mp4)', Video Codec as 'H.264', Resolution as '680*480', Bitrate as '768', Frame Rate as '30', Audio Codec as 'AAC' by default. Remember that the output file size mostly depends on the Bitrate you set. Larger Bitrate, larger file size. Actually video with bitrate as 512 is acceptable for watching on YouTube.

Step 6: Start converting DVD movies
Now you may click the big button "Start" to begin converting DVD movies onto your hard disk.
Once you've finished converting your videos, made sure it's less than 10 minutes, smaller than 2GB in size, and in an acceptable format, you're ready to upload it.
